Importance of Time Management to Business Success

Time management is money! And we all want to make money, right? You can lose valuable time and income when you mismanage your time. Sometimes you might not even realize you are wasting time. Here are some techniques to help you know when you are and are not managing your time so well. It is vital that you learn how to improve time management skills.

Plan To Plan

Go ahead and get the chuckles out-of-the-way. This might sound ridiculous, but you really do have to plan your plans. The little bit of time it takes to plan ahead will be a better use of your time than fumbling all over the place throughout the day. This will help you mentally prepare and reach many of your daily goals. Keep a daily time management worksheet to learn how to better manage time.

Assume The Unexpected Will Happen

Just know that you will get caught up with all sorts of distractions and interruptions. It is just the day in the life of (insert your name here). Be sure to allow yourself some time to eat and take a deep breath. Overbooking yourself will only come back to haunt you when the distractions and interruptions start banging down your office door, ringing your phone…while every type of messenger that you have is dinging and bleeping. You get the point.

Set Goals

Get up and get in there! Don’t move at the speed of a turtle and wait for things to be completed. Schedule times to work on certain items in your agenda and try to get through them during specific time frames. I know, it is much easier said than done. But if you set goals and really try to keep them, you might surprise yourself and plow right through your day.

Don’t Try To Be A Superhero, Delegate

Businessmen and women are always trying to do everything themselves. The good thing about this is then you feel as if you are in control of every situation (this is coming from a control freak). The bad thing is that you can’t physically and mentally do it all on your own. Even worse, you will never grow and neither will your business. You have to delegate some things and allow yourself to focus on just some very important aspects. Save your time with our statement mailing outsource.

Important Meetings ONLY

Don’t just have meetings about meetings. Be sure that all meetings are following the agenda. Worthless meetings not only waste your valuable time but everyone else’s time as well.

Do Not Disturb

Every once in a while, you have to really focus. Get away from all the noise, distractions and interruptions. A really great option is headphones. They muffle out other noises and if you choose to, maybe softly play instrumental music. I know for me, anything with words or singing is distracting.

How To Stop Wasting Time Like a Boss
Time is money. Money is time. Why waste either, right? The fact is, time is the most sacred commodity that any business person can possess. If we could extend the clock, I am sure we’d all be a little bit richer for it. But the sad truth is that we simply can’t do that. Time is what it is, unless we are Stephen Hawking, then it is definitely different.
To help us manage time, in most cases, we need to change our approach to our days. Time waste traps are darn near everywhere and if we aren’t aware of them, we can fall victim to them.  Instead, use these time management tips and strategies.
Accounts payable is all about efficiency. So what time management tips does Check Issuing recommend (outside of just using our service)?
Keep the social media in check. Maybe you want to just have the rule to cut it off during the daytime hours. If that’s not possible though (maybe you chat with clients and potential clients using it), then you need to express a series of rules regarding it. You could have dedicated time slots for Facebook and only access it then. One thing that I know to be detrimental to time management is leaving Facebook open in a browser window. Facebook thrives by making sure you know when any and all activity has occurred on your account. So shut it down when not in use or you will find yourself mindless wandering back over there.
Schedule your day every morning. Each morning, wake up and jot down what you need to do. This doesn’t have to be a formal undertaking, simply jotting down things you need to accomplish will automatically organize your brain. Giving your mind an eye into what needs to happen will help to put at ease what you need to do. It otherwise feels like clutter.
Don’t overwork. Wait, what? Yep, I said it. Organizing time doesn’t mean sitting in an unhealthy position all day or getting bored with the same task. Take walks, limit your sitting time. Change task so that your brain feels less mundane.
Time tasks. Don’t be afraid to dedicate specific time slots to specific tasks. Sometimes feeling that we only have so much time per task can cause us to focus better on those tasks. Our brains deal well with segments and formats and organization. Feed the brain exactly what it wants!
Sometimes it is all about just putting forth the effort. Give it a try!

Early Bird Gets The Worm, The Check, The Happiness And More!

Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. You’ be surprised by just how much you can accomplish in the wee hours of the morning. I love the morning. Let me clarify, I love the part of the early morning when nobody else is awake yet. It is like this precious piece of time that is all mine. I can think more clearly and nobody is asking me for anything…YET. Look, you are not going to automatically be more successful if you simply wake up early, it is about what you do with that time and how you prioritize. But I will tell you this, you will be much more leveled an hour earlier in the morning than you will be trying to figure something out after a long day at work or in the dark of the night. Jump start this fine New Year with these early bird tips.

Get Up Early

Get up, get up, get up! If you wake up at least one hour earlier than usual, you can slowly but surely creep (in a good way) into your day. This allows you the additional time to surf the web, maybe even read and learn something new. Then take a look at your day and how you want to accomplish everything. Make a plan and take some notes to follow so you can stay on track throughout the day.

Eat Healthy

It really can be the most important meal of the day. Eat breakfast and a healthy one at that. Then eat healthy for the rest of the day. If you start off eating badly in the mornings, there is no turning back that day. I know once I have sweets or something I should not, I just want more and more all day. Remember loads of sugar will make you crash, which is the worst during a full day. There are so many healthy proteins, good fats and complex carbs that can start your day off with a bang. Eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, avocados are just to name a few good options.

Work Out

Exercising is so important, not just to look healthy, but to feel healthy as well. If you exercise in the morning, you are basically jump-starting your day. You wake up your brain and your body and will have an insane amount of energy. Not to mention the amount of stress you can reduce right off the bat by just moving your body around first thing. You don’t have to have a trainer or belong to a gym either. There are tons of stretches and routines that can be done in about 20 – 25 mins that will make a huge difference. If weather permits, get outside and take a walk or go for a run. Nothing like some good tunes and a brisk walk/run to clear the mind of any negativity.

Educate Yourself

Bet you’ve never heard of successful people that don’t continue to learn. Maybe some don’t continue to learn in institutions but they are most certainly reading, researching and listening to anything that can help them and their business to grow.
If you just wake up one hour earlier and try some of these tips, you will reach higher than ever before. It doesn’t stink that bad to be up in the morning. Especially if it is before everyone else is awake. Then it is YOUR morning, Your time. Happy, healthy and wealthy 2016 from all of us at Check Issuing your online check writing and mailing service.

Stop making excuses. Do not justify not finishing a task. The only person you are failing is yourself when you make up excuses. Take control of your outcome and find a way to finish.
